rainy weather

An verregneten Tagen geht man ins Museum!!! Guter Plan, leider hatten den wohl auch alle weiteren Touristen, who were out and about in NYC today. That's how we found each other, after it took us a long time, until we even went outside in this weather, in front of the "Museum of Natural History" in an impressively long queue. It went straight from the main entrance to the subway station and back again :-(. But in the rain it was still the closest dry shelter, so we waited patiently. When we finally got to the museum, it was packed everywhere :-(, which was actually to be expected.

Nevertheless, we fought our way through the impressive exhibition for almost two hours, until it just got too much for us in the crowd.

Such a great city with so many possibilities, but today we somehow didn't get together. My mood had hit rock bottom after visiting the museum. I hadn't imagined it like that. To calm me down, Dietmar first invited me to dinner. With a full stomach, the world looked much friendlier again and when the sun came out again, the world was right again for me. With the end of the rain, the queues had somehow disappeared into thin air and we paid another visit to "Madame Tussauds" and the day found a funny end.

The rain break was over the next morning, although I ordered sunshine for my birthday. So, to start the day, I got a totally lovely birthday breakfast from Dietmar and also a mysterious voucher with a numerical code on it.

In connection with that, we would take the train to Amityville on Long Island today. With ferry, We were on the road for a good two hours by subway and train. Quite a long time, if you are as curious as me. Our destination was a desolate little place and Dietmar continued to lead me through the rain, until we finally stood in front of a photo shop. So that's it! Since he had fooled me unsuspecting so very successfully. I've been hoping for a new camera for a long time, since my NIKON D300 after 10 years and 100 000 Auslösungen langsam in die Jahre bekommen war und auch gelegentlich Zicken machte.
