Spanish port cinema

Today is holiday in Spain - Assumption. And my guide was right: Maria goes not just implied here in the sky, but that comes later. Want to do with our decision on the Außenmole with the nose in the wind, we had ourselves a restless night brought. Because the wind had shifted after our arrival so far, now that the shaft freely spilled on our stern and clapped. But with ear plugs and enough Spanish red wine it was not so bad. Man kann sich ein Boot sozusagen auch ruhig trinken 🙂

The morning was radiantly beautiful and we made against our habit on trips to the bakery, we had already spotted yesterday, together. Since our Capitano can be quite difficult to resist temptations, I wanted to make sure, that the bread shopping for our breakfast not one week ration cake from the enticing offer found its way to ship.

The SY Ganesha had left us in the direction of Vigo early in the morning. Apparently he liked them both not so good, but for us it was perfect. Although Cambarro is located at the very end of Ria, we could observe from the boat in front of the harbor a very large school of dolphins. Everywhere in the Rias there are shellfish farms, where there fish teeming. Since the Dolphins could not say no.

In the afternoon it was but then suddenly with the peace and tranquility over. Just like the French, the Spaniards are avid water sports. Today ended in Combarro a stage of a regatta. Good, that we had decided already in the morning, Verholen to our SUMMER in the harbor. Now we really were at port cinema in the first row.

The racing boats were sailed by at least six people, sometimes it was larger boat also more. A total of six Marineros were traveling, which pointed the boats to their places. But not only that. They had on the web almost always intervene helpfully: Here catch a leash (If my Capitano says again, I would throw bad linen, werde ich ihn an den heutigen Tag erinnern 🙂 )or are holding a boat from the jetty. Several times we have seen really funny scenes. Boats, who had already arrived safely at the dock, the wind drove back completely unhindered, since none of the six people on board came up with the idea, times to give a line ashore. If anything were mooring available or discoverable. So was pulled and pushed at all ends violently and athletic. They threw dynamically between boat and dock or boat and also between the neighboring boat. And the more people in the game were, desto spannender wurde es 🙂

XKH_4339XKH_4329

Now in hindsight also, why not more Marinero us at flipping the SUMMER of the page. We have become accustomed, to handle our boat as a team alone. For a Spaniard probably inconceivable. Usually it is even better than unaided. Because everyone knows, what to do. And with sporting pulling and pushing is not really moving at a 15-ton yacht something.

Eventually all racing boats were then but neatly stowed in the pits and on the webs. Even in our box was a second boat, which had fortunately made a small attack on the SUMMER, but (by courageous pushing and pressing both sides) could be thwarted. We were able to leave with a good feeling towards the old town.

XKH_4369

Here we expected a wonderful dinner, that we had also earned honestly. In our choice with direct lake view restaurant we stuttered us with the Spanish app from Dietmars Iphone through the menu. We wanted to take any risks. After much back-and-forth we ordered a paella type, But the behind the adventurous name "Delicate rice to Marinero kind in the pot from the clay" had hidden. We also now know the Spanish words for at least five different types of shellfish :-). Unfortunately, it was cold in the evening but faster than we expected. So we even had to forego dessert and returned somewhat rushed back on boat, um den Capitano (times go only in T-shirt and shorts again) to protect against frostbite.

XKH_4380

During the entire time, we were in the old town on the way, we heard cannon-shots, coming increasingly closer to the shore of the bay. The Spaniards seem to love firecrackers. Already in Muros we had met the preference. Always, if you do not expect, pops it suddenly terribly loud and frightening. Today, Maria was accompanied loudly on their way to heaven. And not only by firecrackers, the church bells rang almost ten minutes storm. Pity, that there were no fireworks. Da hätte man den Lärm wenigstens mit etwas Schönem verbunden 🙂

Spanish Rias – almost like being on holiday!

One would think, Europe in our time is an area, present of the unique material charts. Far! For the access to the port of San Vincent the values for water depth were on different charts quite far apart. Different details of 0,5 to 3 Meters water depth is a bandwidth, which can lead to big problems. As one enters as a sailor rather not risk, we went in search of another port. This is in the Rias not a big problem because here you can easily find alternatives. We chose the harbor in Sanxenxo, or alternatively, the anchor bay right next to it.

After breakfast it was so then "anchor on". The maneuver with a new division of labor (Katja at the wheel / Dietmar at the windlass) succeeded immediately. Seen anchors is still very relaxed. If the anchor chain has disappeared in the box, you are right ready to travel and must neither linen, still putting away Fender.

XKH_4143

A relaxing day trip from 35 Nautical miles in front of us. Eventually even the promised wind came up and we enjoyed the great, sunny day on the beautiful coast. By afternoon we reached the bay and decided, yet another go at anchor. A good decision, as we could determine in retrospect. The port of Sanxenxo is with 45,00 € / night really expensive and was due to an event completely overcrowded anyway.

XKH_4198

At our anchorage just outside the bay of Sanxenxo raged the Spanish holiday life. Many sailing- and motor yachts lay at anchor for a swim stop. The wide sandy beach, the towels tightly lined up close to. Vom Land re churning the Spanier mit Tretbooten, Jet skis and canoes. Most of them were young people, which tested their knowledge of German to us. "Hi there?! Good day "it echoed back to us on deck.

We decided to, to spend this evening on the boat. Only the very idea, that all the, we had seen on the beach today, evening would populate the bars and restaurants, deterred us from. So our corn chicken wandered into the oven and soon dinner was in the restaurant "SUMMER" served.

Slowly it was also quiet around us, only a few yachts really wanted to spend the night in the bay. The rest went in different directions from there. We made ourselves comfortable with a round of Scrabble, die ich schon zum zweiten Mal hintereinander glorreich verlor 🙁 Ich hätte nicht gedacht, that you can cheat in this game, also, aber irgendwas ist doch wohl faul hier 🙂 Ich werde dem Herrn Kapitän schon noch auf die Schliche kommen.

Shortly after midnight, we then moved us in the bunks. But even a clock I stood upright once in bed. The party in the port boomed so loud despite hatches closed around the ship, that was not to think of sleep. Wenigstens war die Musikauswahl nach unserem Geschmack und schlafen wird ja auch völlig überbewertet 🙂

Something overslept the next morning we took the dinghy clear, to make together with Martin and Violetta of the SY Ganesha least a short shore excursion. But since we did not want to leave the Spanish teenagers on the beach our dinghy, without possibility, they festzuschließen sure, we went to Porto Nuovo in the harbor. Here we found a slippery ramp, in which we were able to land and our dinghies moored safely. We walked along the waterfront, the right on the neat and tidy raked sand beach ran along. After a short stint on the market, on which one of “Brand sneakers” for 12 € until the potato actually could buy everything, we already started our way back. Once in the harbor, we found, that we had not arrived at the lowest water level, as we had thought. So the dinghies were further one and a half meters deep below us. Boarding would be possible only by a quick jump from the slippery concrete ramp. But as sporty wanted today to become one and also for Goofy, the ship's dog SY Ganesha, would have been no alternative. After we had extended the line of the second dinghy with the leash of Goofy, we could Verholen our dinghies along the harbor wall to a staircase and finally heading back.

Once back on board, we wanted for a short swim in the direction Cambarro sail. Actually bathing was so my idea, inspired by the many bathing Spaniards. But after a water temperature test with the big toe, I realized, that here there were no swimming conditions suitable for me. Dietmar was there much harder in the company even if it took a while. Eventually, he took a bath, while I faltered again on deck.

XKH_4201

So I was but to rush him quickly to help then able, after the climb up from the water had created with the outboard. Good, dass wir den tollen erste Hilfe-Kurs gemacht hatten 🙂 Aber keine Sorge, too bad that was not also. My skills learned to sew a laceration, I could not attach here unfortunately. But a nice glued patch is indeed a good start. One should not simply invest with stronger.

XKH_4205

After coffee, it should then go on to Combarro, a stone's throw of only seven nautical miles. Actually, a route not worth so yes, but it should be according to our guide very nice there, dort am Ende der Ria. Again the wind for relaxed sailing invited and an hour later we were in the port of Combarro firmly to the Außenmole.

Back in civilization with electricity and internet, the captain even forgot his investors beer. But beautiful, when you're back online. In a week already collect a few things to, the read, want to be commented or done. After dinner with the self-caught mackerel, but lured the music of the city and the Internet had to wait. On the small square of Combaro, we seal must attend the screening of the local children's dance group.

XKH_4236

After that we did not want to go home. A little we wanted to enjoy the great atmosphere in the place. So we followed the stream of locals unobtrusively in the beautiful old town to a small, winding street, full of bars, Restaurants and shops. What a pity, that we had already eaten. Tomorrow we will spend here definitely our evening. But the safe side with dictionary, apparently does strange things are also served in Spain. Although we are keen to experiment, but everything has its limits.

Far from civilization – Our Anchor in the Ria de Muros

Since Saturday afternoon we are Muros anchor. The crossing was smooth. Your selected us weather window was not optimal but the best, what we could get. That meant in detail: Although we had no wind from the front, but we had but otherwise no wind. 1-3 Node circulating winds felt at more like my hairdryer in the bathroom and not like sailing. SUMMER unfortunately was also unimpressed and was not really going. Good, daß wir noch in La Coruna 150 Liters of diesel had refueled. So while almost the entire trip we had run on the machine. After all, we had the rain, had firmly hung over the harbor of Friday, left after about two hours behind us. Unfortunately, I discovered during my night watch, that we had stowaways from La Coruna taken on board. A few of the bloodthirsty pests torpedoed my well deserved sleep and would not be really relaxing my vigil. But now they are history. Early morning I seemed to have killed the last of the gang.
The “Ria de Muros” presented today for the first time in its entire beauty. For once the sun was shining. The partially dense fog, also the last part surprised us crossing within minutes, had cleared. The small city is idyllically located below the pine-covered mountains. Of these, however, was unfortunately almost nothing to see in the last days.
Muros well seem to be a popular place in the Spanish holidaymakers. On our first shore excursion with the dinghy on Saturday the beaches were quite animated despite the weather and we found after a long search a place in one of the many tapas bars. Slightly surprised we found, that the prices in comparison with La Coruna were still significantly higher. The small town itself had for us rather a morbid charm. The buildings are partially fallen right off the waterfront and it is missing from the city core to significantly flair. But nevertheless we had a really fun evening. Because right on the harbor, a stage was built and from 10 Clock rang rock and heavy metal over the whole bay. This also we did not want to miss and injected with the dinghy ashore again.
The small, very sheltered bay with its wide sandy beach but still invited to stay, then on Sunday night should go through a storm with lots of wind and rain again. So the night was in spite of the strong wind but still relaxing and during the day it became increasingly dry. I used the time for more travel planning, while Dietmar with the dinghy went ashore and explored further the city.
In the early evening the SY Ganesha walked beside us anchor. She had made a stopover at Cape Finisterre. Together we decided on a leisurely dinner, to spend two more days in Muros. Again stood some work on our list and there was also a gaping void in the onboard refrigerator. After pulling another little bad weather on Tuesday it should go south. San Vincent del Mar was the next stop on the agenda. Due to the unstable weather conditions up here in northern Spain we decided, to shorten our time spent in this part of the country considerably and quickly to sail to Portugal in the hope, there regain the coveted summer.
The SY MENTOR wants to make today on the way in our direction. Perhaps there is already in San Vincent a reunion.
Moored for us no everyday situation. So far, we have almost always located on the web in any Marina. Each time you could leave the boat easily. Showers and other sanitary facilities were (in different qualities) land available. Water and electricity were to be had on the pier. Usually you had Internet access via WiFi. Now everything is different. First, directly after the anchor was dropped, The dinghy was made clear. Any way ashore is a trip for two, because my skills in dinghy ride is not as advanced are. Power we have sufficient enough on board and it can, if required, produce even. Exactly the same is true for fresh water. Every other day has ran our watermaker. Only only the WiFi connection is really from us. Today the suffering was so great, that we have finally dealt with the problem of non-functioning WLAN antenna. Unfortunately, with the result, that our problem somewhere in the antenna on the top of the mast 20 Meters is. As Dietmar today must anyway in the mast, However, we will continue to pursue the same theme. Let's see, whether we can report success today evening.
So you feel in the age of the general and permanent accessibility but amazing at the same time of the “World” cut off amazingly. For both of us a new experience.

Vampires Gone Wrong! The nasty strategy of a sacrificial anode……..

The last 3 Days on board were rather busy nature and filled with deferred Horns & Megaphones. Meanwhile I the contents of the lockers (Stowage under deck) have turned from left to right and have partly funded amazing to days, Katja has been devoted to the administrative part. Almost full 2 Days you wrote emails and reports, does the filing, Brought order to the ship, Loaded washing machines and by the way your hobby, so to speak “to compensate”, der Zubereitung von Köstlichkeiten gefrönt 🙂

The myself assigned tasks were, after all, not even by board. In addition to a regularly conducted quality control of the galley and Keksbestände including coffee and cappuccino bar, I also had to bring our boat to water and to test with different engine variants. To be optimal, the 6 Hp Yamaha outboard proven because the boat so literally flies `s water. Unfortunately I have no release of Katja get a 15 PS Motor zu testen 🙂 Weiterhin wurde der Tauchflaschenkompressor mit Benzinmotor und eine mit Benzin betriebene Motorwasserpumpe in Betrieb genommen. Our dock neighbors had the nose pretty full of many waste gases. Especially, weil die Geräte ausgiebig im Vollgasmodus getestet worden sind 🙂

But woe when the night came and lay down the veil of darkness and hypocritical rest of the harbor…… Shortly after midnight they came, the winged Vampire. Mosquitoes! The first night I had to dream the feeling when I woke up and my left foot sole itching violently one could also say, burned! From then on, I was warned and had pulled me despite the sweltering heat the blanket over both ears, to ward off the attack of pests. Again, this bright buzzing sound from the center of the room coming closer and closer, went out the next successful blood donation to the vampires of my arm. Damn how the itch! No idea, whether the beasts here Tabasco have the trunk but the sting was almost the fun part in this drama. No chance of escape. Only the tip of the nose peeped out of the ceiling into the open. It did not help! I felt like a pin cushion in a home economics school on Open Day.

Only one thing has made me very suspicious. Why do the beasts my blood and not that of my wife? Could I but have always been very safely be, that Katja was the victim of desire and I had a peaceful sleep and am spared from all forms of perforations. How often I have Katja in my descriptions to the amusement of all as “Opferanode” referred! (a sacrificial anode is made of zinc and is the underwater hull to protect stainless steel parts such as. the drive shaft mounted. The zinc is to protect (galvanisches Element) sacrificed stainless steel!) That this was indeed different times in!
My in-laws “Opferanode” had namely from the nose to the sole “Antibrumm” rubbed and thus leave her husband completely unprotected mosquitoes. With relish, she then gave breakfast to top, that they previously 3 Gnats in the bathroom had seen and wanted to play it safe. Not so bad this strategy. Fies but all because they did not tell me until today, where they hid the bottle. So ein Biest 🙂

In a few hours we are secluded and overnight, the “Cup Fisterra” happen. We ca. 90 To master nautical miles and hope against tomorrow at noon in “Ria de Muros” to arrive. We want to once again moor in a marina, as we await the passage of a low pressure area with strong winds. Then we want to go in a bay for a few days at anchor.

Finally, an advice to all captains: Unterschätzt bloß Eure Frauen nicht 🙂

Now `s further! `S now more?

Tomorrow it will go toward the south, or more precisely, to the southwest. That is why today so were again the usual preparations for the program would be the as:
– Wash clothes
– Shopping
– Clean boat and convert it into a sail ready state
– Dinghy verstauen
– Do post
– Write emails
– Update Website
..and ..., and, and….

Since the early bird catches the worm and we were off early today, We got hold of us after breakfast actually the very popular “No washing machine. 2”, which entrusted to her underwear normally without major floods and discoloration (das Lack von Nr. 1+3) would give again. While our laundry so turned their rounds, we made the four of us with the bike on the way to the supermarket. On the roof of the supermarket is located in La Coruna, a market hall, in until noon on small fruit stands, Vegetables, Fish and meat (tlw. still alive) is offered. With our huge selection we were spoiled for choice, but very soon after our bags were packed with all sorts of tasty stuff. Arrived back at the boat, go even a little later the laundry to dry in the wind. The boss took some additional duties on board, even without complaining as usual. He stowed the dinghy, Cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen and the food given to safe and well deck. I like to fool me but I think, das lag vielleicht auch ein wenig an der Aussicht auf ein verlockendes Mittagessen 🙂

The crew of SY MENTOR one last time were of habit in the late afternoon matched the next milestones. Unfortunately, wind and weather have turned against us. Egal ob Wetterwelt, Passage Weather or US-Grib, this time all the weathermen were unfortunately agree. Thus, the departure time was tilted because in the forecast, we would have no interest in traveling. The wind came from the southwest and just exactly in this direction was our goal. Schade, that a sailboat can not sail against the wind. And how the image will develop in the coming hours and days, we will see yes. Die Wettergötter würfeln noch 🙂 Wehe die Vorhersage stimmt dann nicht! Then we sell the gentlemen “Frogs” an unsere französischen Nachbarn 🙂

But there could be far worse places, where you spend your time “must”. Although most sailors are fidgety and antsy after a long residence time in the harbor and sail want (is the way in technical jargon “Port Koller” stated), so sind das doch ganz eindeutig nur Luxus-Problemchen 🙂

No Car, but a floor without shell and bottle on the Camino de Santiago ……

Exactly at a quarter to eight there was a knock at our boat and Waltraud and Wolfgang were booted and spurred for our planned trip to Santiago de Compostela on the web. By taxi, it went to the station, where we wanted to rent a car for today's excursion. The lady at the car rental looked at us in disbelief: Unreserved? Unlucky! The next car would be in the earliest 2 To have days. Just und Ciao! In Spain everything to be planned in advance. There was nothing to be done!

But if you're already at the station, why then do not coincide with the train? For fabulous 7,20 € per person, we were not 10 Minutes later the next train to Santiago de Compostela the “Pilgerhochburg” at the end of the pilgrimage .. Better we had the can not catch. Comfortable, laid back, without detours, Storage and other adventures we reached only 30 Minutes later, shortly before nine clock our goal.

So early we were still able to enjoy, to enjoy the beautiful city for a while before the big rush of pilgrims and tourists. Sorry, currently the main portal of the cathedral is covered in large part because of extensive renovations. Good, that we are not all made the pilgrimage of St. James ….We visited the cathedral and decided, to visit the noonday fair. Although we both are really no churchgoer, it seemed to us here somehow appropriate. Even before the show were almost all the seats occupied but a stream of other people urged unabated in the nave. We collared still have a place in the side aisle and waited for what, were to come. Even after the arrival of the priest, the flow of tourists from not broke. A devotional mood was not on because of all the corners were using cell phones pictures and videos taken. An atmosphere like at the Cologne main train station .... After less than ten minutes we were fed up. While it's great, that the Spaniards are so tolerant and deny anyone access to the Cathedral, but as the show loses all humor and dignity.

XKH_3923

The entire historic center of Santiago is the sign of the Camino de Santiago and the Pilger.Überall in the city could buy souvenirs: The pilgrims sticks with water bottle and the scallop had it Dietmar particularly impressed. Soon it was up to an agreement and so my captain turned a one “bona fide” Pilgrim. The water bottle and the clam him but were too embarrassed and were located. The beautiful walking stick was but the rest of the day “proud” presented. If I know him he has the stock purchased only, to bring to expression what he thinks of the commercialization of a good thing in itself. Later, once he wants to give the floor to his friend Reiner from Bavaria if I understood him correctly. However, now we definitely have a real weapon on board, mit der wir Einbrecher in die Flucht schlagen können 🙂

In the late afternoon it was quite full in the city and it was decided unanimously, to go back home to La Coruna. Just as easily as on the way it went back again. At the station, hopped into the nearest taxi and we were back in the marina.

By car, the tour would certainly not have been so hassle free and definitely not as low. In Galicia, the trains are in a really great condition and on time.

After a relaxing break in the Marina attracted Waltraud and I once again going, to obtain still something delicious for dinner. Just when we were done at the grocery store, cell phone rang. Dietmar and Wolfgang were waiting in the port city on us, our purchases with the dinghy to transport the boat. What a luxury. So we could without the hassle of heavy bags and move on. Because it was still an item on our shopping list. Spain is so famous for its ham. In the old town we were often stopped by to shops, in which the entire ceiling full of ham hanging. Now we wanted to try these treats also. After a great advice from the seller, we choose from the plethora of different samples from various ham and bought in addition some Spanish cheese. Das Abendessen an Bord war ein echter Schmaus 🙂

3x tapas and only 2x Hercules

The Captain has a writer's block. Ever since we arrived in Spain, I kick him repeatedly around the feet. "Can you not even write something` s Logbook?"It Gern, but what for?“ Ok, I understand. Then we want you also no longer in suspense, denn hier passiert doch schon einiges 🙂

The last three days have flown by. After the long trip over the Bay of Biscay were on Friday on various ship repairs, which the captain successfully together with pal Martin completed. So we had during the last week always small and large amounts of water in the bilge. Not really critical, but that has the skipper simply do not like. Water in his ship, where you can eat but otherwise the engine room from the floor. 's Not the point! During the crossing, the crucial idea he had come. Our stern shower, which should free us after a swim in the sea on the bathing platform with fresh water from salt, was coming at the higher Atlantic shaft from behind, every now and again completely under water. As we found, you had next to a se totally unsuitable console with a hole!!! for the hose guide also cut a huge hole absolutely unnecessary in the rear mirror our SUMMER, dass dem Kapitän immer wieder die Tränen kamen 🙁 Da hat die Werft wirklich einen riesen Mist gebaut! After a trip to the chandlery and with the support of the console pal Martin was functionally reconstructed and sealed watertight! Also our radar was at sea more often from simple and had therefore urgently be subjected to critical examination and repair. After a few hours of the error is found. When mounting the radar antenna, an O-ring between the screw was clamped and thus we had at this point a loose connection. The boss was pretty pissed because it 2x in one day the error (friendly talk!) shipyard, with which he is otherwise very satisfied, could iron out. We are at the next night- fog or driving on the road again with a working radar and therefore safer.

While Dietmar and Martin worked on the ship, Waltraud and I made the environment unsafe. A little trip to the famous lighthouse “Hercules” on the program. Comfortable walking along the coast we discovered nice little beaches and beautiful landscapes. The great view from the lighthouse but we want to keep our men and decided not, later to make another trip there.

XKH_3675

After completion of all work we wanted to treat ourselves to a nice tapas evening in the old town. At half past seven we set out at the marina and still strolled almost an hour through the narrow streets. Restaurants and bars in all shapes and colors! In the narrow streets so many people were traveling. Sometime we also had found a table in a nice bar. We left the cellar, the selection of tapas, because the Spanish card would not have really helped us. So we were able to enjoy genuine Galician specialties, the quite well with Rioja and Cerveza (Hopfentee) Fit. We were impressed by the great and fast service bar, without a PC and technical aids.

On the way back across the Praza de Maria Pita we heard a quarter of an hour in the open-air concert in. The Spaniards were really fired up, but we convinced the Spanish response (Dietmar said “Revenge”) Milva on despite the great atmosphere not really.

In Spain it has to rain again. Saturday was such a day. So it was once again time, to maintain the website and sort our photos. Dietmar used while new contacts and spent most of the day with Eckhardt and Ilona of the SY LONI 3. The two are with your brand new NAUTICAT 42 on the way to the Caribbean.

One of the rain breaks I used to be an extensive photo-walk through the Old Town.

Since the SY Ganesha with Martin and Violetta wanted to continue sailing south tomorrow we set out to, invite the two of them tonight in a tapas bar as “Thank-you” for help to the ship and the nice reception in La Coruna on our arrival. This time we will choose another bar and other tapas. The evening was but just as funny as the night before.

After the rainy day, the people flocked in the evening in the city. When we on the way back over the “Maria Pita Square” came, was there as well as the night before pretty full. Let's see, has to offer the Spanish entertainment tonight! This time the wait was definitely worth it. Even though the band was completely unknown to us, of course,, the music came on and the mood was huge. We were right in the middle, between all the singing and dancing Spaniards. It was a great feeling! Nur mitsingen ging leider nicht 🙂 Nach fast eineinhalb Stunden und einer langen Zugabe, was this beautiful evening actually almost too quickly to end.

20140802_222509

20140802_225826

Although we were come quite late to bed, we wanted on Sunday the same physically active start to the day. Together with Wolfgang and Waltraud we wanted the famous “Hercules”, the lighthouse from the second century AD, we do not want to keep the two gentlemen (see Friday). Previously should be on a short visit to the railway station, car rental can be reserved for the planned for tomorrow trip to Santiago de Compostela.

The two men left the excursion approach clearly sporty, while Waltraud and I followed more leisurely. Occasionally helped us through a red light, to reduce the decency again. But it was also, that the two men actually remembered your wives and appealed for a short break on a street corner.

Dietmar had already made with Martin of the SY Ganesha different bike rides through the city and took over towards the train station sovereign leadership. By and by racing driver he was not deterred by the direct route. So we cycled only along the waterfront and then continue on the motorway (hochgradig illegal) out of town. I was really relieved, when we suffer an exit to the station right. Weiter geradeaus wäre es auf die nächste Autobahn gegangen 🙂 Sein Kommentar war nur: “With me you will experience at least some”

The car rental was closed unfortunately, contrary to the statement of the harbor master Sundays. So we went without doing anything further to our next destination: The Playa de Riazor on the other side of La Coruna. Auch diesmal gewannen die beiden Männer diese doch deutlich anstrengendere Berg-Etappe 🙂

XKH_3769

After a little refreshment and a further photo-stop, we followed the coast further to the Tower of Hercules, the Waltraud and I had visited on Friday. But today, in bright sunshine saw the whole coast twice as nice. Unfortunately, that also found the numerous Spaniards, who wanted to spend their Sunday here. The line of those, who wanted to climb the lighthouse, frighteningly long. We enjoyed the view from the foot of the lighthouse across the bay and then biked back to Marina.

XKH_3789

In the city today circus was announced. On the Plaza Maria Pita various stations had already been set up in the morning. As was found in our fridge nothing enticing for dinner, We decided after a stroll through the circus-place somewhere to go eat something delicious. Surely we found our way to the tapas bar, in which we had spent the nice Friday evening. But this time we had themselves spoiled for choice. These pressed the waitress an English map in hand. And although yes tapas actually translated “Morsel” ie, we had done it again, viel zu viel zu bestellen und natürlich auch zu essen 🙂
