The Chesapeake Bay is spanned by many bridges, but the biggest construction is probably the 37 Kilometer lange Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. Here we began our trip. Already three times we took our CESARINA at the bridges passing over the tunnel. Today we would consider the whole thing from the other side. The sight was really impressive and could not really hold on pictures. And an hour later, we arrived on the Delmarva Peninsula. Our destination today was the “Chinoteague Wildlife Park”. There are still several places along the Virginia coast, where ponies live in the wild. As horse lovers, it was definitely worth a visit for us. But since a “wildlife park” is not a zoo, At first we didn't see any ponies. Patience was required again.

But there was an impressive number of different water birds, who sweetened our waiting time. After a long walk on the beach we finally got to see our ponies. They stood grazing on the banks of a lake, a safe distance from the road.

And if Dietmar has set his mind to something…I think so, You all know, what I mean. So we were standing in front of the Weems at half past eight & Plath store and I had already prepared myself for a longer stay there :-). Unfortunately, the selection in the store was disappointing and the advice also left a lot to be desired. A short time later we left empty-handed. The captain's frustration was initially helped by a decent coffee from Starbucks :-). In a slightly better mood, we visited the “Naval Academy” and the State House. Annapolis is also known as the “Sailing Capital” of the Chesapeake Bay. The harbor promenade and the entire city center were very inviting and beautiful.
